A former IT project manager, and daily commuter, I have lived here since 2011 with my husband and three children. I believe strongly in contributing to the local community, volunteering regularly for the local food bank and serving on the committee for Hook Runners.

As a keen runner and former town dweller, I enjoy the countryside and green spaces around the area, as well as the quietness and pace of life in a village.

A parent of two disabled young adults, I am passionate about improving the lives of disabled people as well as giving a voice to all residents.

What has Labour done recently for Hart?

Energy and food prices are rocketing and many people will struggle, while some will be faced with the terrible choice between heating and eating. In North East Hampshire, Labour raised a petition last November (2021) which resulted in Hart Council providing £10,000 to Hart Foodbank.

Conservative-dominated Hampshire Council proposed massive cuts to health services in 2021, at a time of huge need. We in Labour campaigned through social media, and residents provided a huge response. The Tories were forced to back down on the cuts.

These achievements were from outside the Council – if we can get direct access to Council staff and other councillors, by having our own Labour councillors, we can achieve so much more.

Labour is On Your Side

On Thursday 5 May, we can change the course of our country, starting in our local communities. Britain can’t afford the Tories. Prices are going through the roof and wages are going through the floor. We’ve seen the biggest drop in living standards since the 1950s. Taxes are the highest in 70 years. Britain deserves better than this.

It’s time to send the Tories a message on the cost of living crisis they can’t ignore. The more Labour voices there are in Local Government across the country, the stronger the message we send to the Conservatives that the British people deserve better.

And never let us forget, while we were separated from loved ones, Boris Johnson broke his own rules and partied.

Only a vote for Labour can encourage millions across the country to believe that another way is possible.

It’s time for change

Thousands of new homes in the district have put enormous pressure on roads, GP and hospital services and damaged the natural environment. New homes are built WITHOUT regard for the environment: no solar panels, heat pumps or gardens large enough to attract wild birds.

Yet town centre have not benefitted from the increased population: so many shops have closed. Public transport is inadequate or non-existent.
Hart councillors have conducted talking shops for years, but failed to take meaningful action. You deserve much better, and Labour is ready to serve Hart as it serves so well in Manchester, London, and so many places.
