Carly Bidwell Labour Candidate for Blackwater & Hawley, Hart District Council
Carly has lived and worked in Hampshire for six years. She has been a teacher for 11 years and has been an Assistant Headteacher for the last four years, with responsibility for the quality of teaching. In this time she has been instrumental in the school gaining a ‘Good’ status from Ofsted and is committed to making her school an outstanding school for the young people of Farnborough.
Throughout her teaching career, Carly has been emphatically committed to providing the very best level of education to all. Carly’s belief in education is that schools must educate the whole child. They must be places that are academically rigorous, providing students with first class academic results but also developing them into good, well rounded individuals who can cope with the world of work and become excellent citizens.
Through her experience, Carly has gained skills in leading a large organisation through change, to provide a better service to the local community. She is keen to help our local area improve all public services for our residents, while growing a reputation for providing the very best in education for young people.
Carly is a strong supporter of the men and women of our armed forces. Her grandfather was in the Korean War and she was proud to march alongside him in the London Cenotaph remembrance parade, wearing the ‘dress medals’ to match the ones he wore.
